William Allyn Scull, 80, of Womelsdorf, passed away in the evening hours Wednesday, August 2, 2017, of natural causes in the St. Joseph Medical Center. He was the husband of Jeanette G. (nee’ Pauley) Scull. Born January 5, 1937, in Reading, he was a son of the late John I. & Emma H. (nee’ Long) Scull. Bill was a Deputy Sheriff for Berks County for 27 years retiring in 2000, and had proudly served in the USMC, Vice-President of AFSCME, 20 years of coaching for the Rising Sun Athletic Assoc. In addition to his wife, he is survived by: Sons, Steven and his wife Beth, Kindall and his fiance Kristen , Gregory, Daughters.. Sheri and husband Mike, Kimberly and husband Robert, Cheryl Grandchildren, Heidi and her husband Randy, Austin, Freya, Mara, Bradley, Mason, Logan. Great grandson Layne. Siblings, Sisters, Miriam and husband Robert, Catharine, Evelyn. There is also several nieces and nephews. Preceeded in death by his brothers who were his HEROS Jack, Stan, Paul, Richard, Bob. In Life his greatest love was his Wife of 30 years, where there spent many of vacations in Florida, and Wildwood NJ. They took many other trips over the years making wonderful fantastic memories together.  His children, he cherished many memories such as weekly Reading High Football and basketball games with his son Steve and granddaughter Mara. He always hated to miss games cause he would always say... Now I wont get my soft pretzel to share with my girl Mara. But his all time all time favorite Im sure many would agree is the SEVERAL Bruce Springsteen concerts that he went with his son, son-in-law, granddaughter, Jeff "The Judge" and his beautiful wife April, where they would tailgate for hours and laugh all night. Every Year a  Roy Orbison show would be  booked where he would dance the night away with there great friends Pat and Barbara. Bill would always sit down slip on the dark sunglasses and wait for the music to start. In his spare time for 20 years he would be found Coaching for the Rising Sun Athletic Assoc. weather it was football or baseball you would find "Coach" "Mr. Scull" out there on the field till the sun went down. More great past time after retiring he spent in his tomato garden, doing crossword puzzles, he would be sure to do the Reading Eagle crossword everyday without fail cause he would say "I'm not going to lose my mind I must keep it sharp" Many of his other hobbies included, watching his weekly football games where he would cheer on the COLTS to victory, and to switch the channel when the great Penn State would play to cheer them on. On several occasions with his son Steve and granddaughter Mara and his brother Bob they would meet for a BIG Penn State Day and laugh and joke and eat there favorite subs.Bill would always make sure where ever he went everyone in the room knew he was 100% proud to be a United States Marine. Every year he would take a yearly family trip to Wildwood Beach for "the Fireman Weekend" So several other member of the Womelsdorf Fire Co beings his son, son-in-law and his grandson were all fireman, after a year many other fireman followed like his pals Jamie and Heather where Jamie was in the Air Force Bill would never ever let him live that down. He would always tell J well weren't not all perfect, sorry you made that wrong choice. Even up till the hours before he passed away he was taken by ambulance and when the driver came in he remembered " MR Scull after only meeting one other time. He said to Bill at one point cause of course he hated Drs so wasn't going to go, and the driver said "  WELL THAT'S CAUSE YOU WERE A MARINE" Bill Couldn't have that be said of him so his reply was ' I AM A MARINE NOT WAS A MARINE' ' ONCE A MARINE ALWAYS A MARINE" Bill would never in his life  time ever have to say anything bad, negative, about anyone. If he saw you doing something dumb or stupid he would let you know his way and that would be his favorite all time saying 'WRONG' and you had no choice but to stop and to correct. He always just would say God made us all the same to make faults in life so who are we to judge anyone. He would give you the last dollar in his wallet if you had none, the shirt off his back if need a clean shirt, and the coat off of himself even though he would freeze he made sure you were warm. There are just so many people in this world that Bill has touched over the 80 years that we as his friends, and family were blessed to have him in our lives this world is going to miss Bill Scull in so many ways. We just hope as from the family that you remember him and do as he would do. Pay it Forward as he did many times. He will forever be in all our hearts and we all will miss the special man God blessed with. Viewing will be held  Thursday, August 10, 2017, from 5pm to 9pm at Trinity Evangelical Fellowship Church, 300 Lyman Ave. Womelsdorf  and Friday, from 9am to 11am. Funeral Services will begin Friday, August 11, 2017,  at 11 am at Trinity Evangelical Fellowship Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Wiest, officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow in Laureldale Cemetery, Tuckerton. The Mull Funeral Home, Womelsdorf is in charge of arrangements.  www.mullfh.com
