Obituary

Gerald F. Helm, age 89, of Stouchsburg passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the Laurel Center in Hamburg.

He was the husband of Susan Daub Helm.

Born in Robesonia on October 1, 1932 a son of the late Walter and Catherine (Long) Helm.

He was a graduate of Robesonia High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955.

Gerald retired from North American Refractories in Newmanstown and was always lending a helping hand to friends and family with anything that needed to be fixed or repaired.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Kim Helm (Ivy), Scott Helm (Gail), Robin Robinson (Charles), and Lori Witmer (Gary); sister, Dolly Stieff; and grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, and nieces & nephews.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Lou Bickle Helm; twin sister, Ruth Shepler; and sisters, Shirley Wartzenluft and Margaret Showalter.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 10:30am at Cole Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 402 E. Penn Ave., Robesonia.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30am at the Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his memory to the food pantry at Living Stones Christian Fellowship Church, PO Box 122, Newmanstown, PA 17073.  Please note "Food Pantry" in the memo line on your donation check.
