Mary Elizabeth Fletcher, 84, of Stonecroft Village, Womelsdorf passed away after a battle with cancer on Friday morning January 27th. Her immediate family had gathered to be with her at Reading Hospital.
Mary was born In Louisville, KY, daughter of the late Ruby Christine and the late William Casper Herps.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Robert, sister Rita Peresie and brother Ted Herps, daughter Debbie from Delaware, son Doug from Tennessee, granddaughters Christine and Amy, and great grandchildren, Ben and Lucy, and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was a Navy wife for many years and moved 14 times in 27 years. She worked at most of the locations as an RN at hospitals. She volunteered in supporting the Navy Relief Society. Mary loved her family, friends and pets. She loved gardening and traveling, and was a master gardener and an active member of local garden clubs for many years.
A memorial service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held privately by the family.
